Outside Play Last Week

Last week we had such nice weather and we enjoyed it. Let's start with Emma and Erin playing, I promise Erin didn't play half naked the whole day. She had a long sleeved shirt on under her short sleeved one, so when we took them off to take off the extra layer Erin went running! She enjoyed a few minutes of extra vitamin D absorption.

You can't have a HOT day without an ice cream cone, especially when you have Superman ice cream just waiting in the freezer to be eaten. I have fond memories of getting Superman Ice Cream at Meijer shopping with my mom. Thanks Mom!!! I laugh every time I look at this picture of Eric eating ice cream and think I may get this look at lot when he is a teenager. Emma is clowning around (sorry I had to do it) and Erin is happily enjoying her ice cream. In the next picture, Erin and Eric were ready to swim in the pool (which Eric climbed under the deck to pull out) but "bad mommy" but the kabosh on that. However, Emma is now working on invitations for her friends to come over for a pool party - what a party planner!

Eric had fun playing basketball. It was Erin's present when she was two and now Eric has played with it more than her. :-) We ended the day happy and tired...it was a good one.

Goofy Kids

Emma wanted me to take her picture with her finger up her nose. I tried to get her just to make a cute smile but she thought this was hilarious. So, needing possible material for when she is older I took the picture. Notice the twinkle in her eye!

I think Erin is in training to be a Charlie's Angel. It started this Christmas when she was playing with Uncle Shaun and posing. She looks so "tough"! My favorite is her hiney sticking out...she surely didn't get that from her mama! Don't forget that you can click on the picture to make it larger.

This is Eric's impression of Grandpa. Enough said!

All Partied Out

I would like to say that this picture was taken at the end of a fun filled day, but alas it was taken BEFORE the fun filled day. Poor little Erin just could not wake up for the preschool Valentine's Day party, even after 11 1/2 hours of sleep (I'm thinking growth spurt). I dressed her, went to get dressed myself and she fell back asleep in her chair. Emma wanted me to take a picture of Erin sleeping with a doll on her arm, she just thought that was the funniest thing. Then she wanted a picture with her. And then one of her kissing Erin (notice Josh trying to put on Erin's tights while she was sleeping).
She did wake up for the party and had a nice time.

Dedication and Baking

Eric was dedicated at our church on Sunday, February 8th. It was a nice service and for those of you who haven't been to a baby dedication, it really is the parents, godparents (if there) and church saying that they will be dedicated to helping their child grow spiritually and to know Christ as their personal savior. Eric looked handsome in his vest and tie and the girls were proud to be on stage in pretty dresses. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and only got one good shot of Eric using Josh's camera phone. The other photo below is Eric and Mike taken at Christmas and it is such a cute picture that I had to put it somewhere.
We would like to thank Sherri Sears for agreeing to be Eric's Godmother!

A few weeks ago we got out the Easy Bake Oven again (this time I took pictures) and we made some Princess Cookies. The girls really enjoy making, baking, and eating the cookies.

The Great Escape

Eric now knows how to climb out of his crib. We have since taken the side rail off the crib and will switch over to his toddler bed in a few weeks. Here are the pictures I took of Eric, he was pretty upset because he had JUST gotten out and I put him back in the crib to take pictures of his escape.

Valentine's Day

We started off the day with Emma wanting her picture taken before she got out of bed. Maybe I take too many pictures?! Not that I am going to stop. Erin was still sleepy and Eric was already waking up "Sissy" to get the day started.

Then we made and frosted sugar cookies.

Opening presents...

Josh took us all to Chuck E. Cheese for a family Valentine's Day treat. We naively thought Chuck E. Cheese would be fairly empty, apparently so did quite a few other families. However, we really did have a great time!

Up a tree

This is Erin up in a tree in our backyard. It is great for climbing and the girls really enjoy it. This day Erin was feeling a bit adventurous and climbed higher than she ever has. Emma pointed out to me how high Erin was and that she may need help. Ahhhh! Just to give you an idea of how high, the fence in the backyard is 5 feet tall so I guess she was over 10 feet off the ground. Again, I grabbed the camera to take a picture (since it wasn't Erin that was worried) and then I climbed the tree to help Erin get down. All in a days work.

After a full afternoon of play it was time for a bath and a nap. While helping the girls get their clothes off, Eric apparently thought I took too long to help him so he just got into the bathtub. He does like taking "baaaaa" so then I stripped his soggy clothes off and he and the girls had a nice warm bath.
